Websites age faster than most business owners realize. A site that looked sharp five years ago can quietly turn customers away today. Here are seven signs it may be time for a redesign.

1. It Doesn’t Work Well on Phones

Most visitors now arrive on a phone. If they have to pinch and zoom, tap tiny links or scroll sideways, many will simply leave and call a competitor.

2. It Loads Slowly

If your site takes more than a few seconds to load, you’re losing visitors before they see anything. Older sites are often weighed down by oversized images and outdated code.

3. It Looks Dated

Visitors judge your business by your website within seconds. Outdated design, old photos and cluttered layouts suggest your business might be outdated too, even when it isn’t.

4. You Can’t Update It Yourself

If changing your hours or adding a photo means calling a developer, your site is probably out of date more often than not. A modern website should let you make everyday updates easily.

5. It Doesn’t Generate Leads

A website should do more than exist. If it isn’t producing calls, form submissions, bookings or sales, it may be missing clear calls to action, strong service pages or easy ways to contact you.

6. Your Business Has Changed

New services, new locations, a new logo or a new target customer are all good reasons to rethink your site so it reflects who you are today.

7. It’s Insecure or Unsupported

Sites built on old software, abandoned themes or outdated versions of PHP become harder and riskier to maintain. If updates keep breaking things, rebuilding on a modern foundation is often the smarter investment.

Redesign vs. Refresh

Not every site needs to start from scratch. Sometimes a refresh, with updated design, faster performance and better content, gets you most of the benefit. A good web designer will tell you honestly which makes sense.
